Our Aims
One of the aims of Dar Aminah is to provide a safe and nurturing place for children to develop, discover and learn in. For the mums, the group acts as a hub for them to share a wealth of knowledge and experience with each other and also, give them an opportunity to learn new skills.

We are currently looking to recruit volunteers for the above mentioned sessions which take place every Monday, from approximately 11:30am until 1:30pm.

Volunteers will be required to ensure a smooth running of the sessions. The main responsibilities will be to assist in supervising children’s activities, serving refreshments to the mums and tots or helping to clear up at the end of the session. Volunteers can choose what they would prefer to help with.

The target is to recruit as many volunteers as possible so, that the responsibilities are spread out and the commitment for all individuals can remain flexible.

How does volunteering benefit you?
The blessed Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) has said:
“The best of people are those most beneficial to other people.” (Al-Tarbani, Al-Daraqutni)
Volunteers stand to gain so much in terms of developing their practical skills, knowledge, awareness, the barakah of being part of a really important service that has a real impact on so many of our women and children’s lives.

The Dar is committed to the development of all individuals, including volunteers. Training will be provided for volunteers to gain any specialised skills that are needed. As a Dar volunteer, you will also have a chance for professional development where the Dar could part fund any relevant courses for you to attend. For example, it would be ideal for a volunteer to have First Aid training for the Mums and Tots sessions.

Many of the mums who attend our sessions have professional backgrounds. References and contacts can be provided for those volunteers who may be looking to enhance their career prospects and develop their CV.
